Some significant Surahs

There are certain surahs which show great significances and should be recited often. The importance of some of these surahs have been mentioned in the Hadith of the prophet Muhammad صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ as well. Learn a little about these surahs and read them directly below.

Al-Waqi'ah

The Inevitable

Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ narrates that: "Surah Waqi'ah will become a protection from poverty for the one who recites it every right." (Mukhtasar Ithafus sadatil Maharah, Hadith: 6556; Takhrijul Kash-shaf, vol.3 pg.412; Lisanul MIzan, no: 8902)

Yaseen

Yaseen

Ibn 'Abbas رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ narrates that: “Whoever recites Yaseen in the morning, his work for that entire day will be made easy and whoever recites it at the end of the day, his tasks till the next morning will be made easy" (Sunan Darimi). In short, we should recite Surah Yaseen daily.

Al-Mulk

The Sovereignty

Abu Huraira رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ narrates that: "...[Surah Mulk] intercedes for a man on the day of judgment so that he is taken out of the fire and entered into paradise (Abu Dawud 1400)." It is recommended for this surah to be recited every night.

Al-Buruj

The Mansions of Stars

One of the themes of Surah Buruj is to motivate the believers and affirm to them that: "If you remain firm and steadfast against tyranny and coercion, you will be rewarded richly for it [by Allah]..."

Al-Kahf

The Cave

Abu Saeed al-Khurdi رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ narrates that: "Whoever reads Surah Kahf on Friday will have a light that will stretch from one Friday to the next." (an-Nasa'i, al-Baihaqi, and al-Hakim)

As-Sajdah

The Prostration

The prophet Muhammad صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ used to recite Surah Sajdah in the salah of Fajr on Friday (Tirmidhi #520). Similar to Surah Mulk, it has also been advised to recite Surah Sajdah at night.

Al-Jinn

The Jinn

In a hadith narrated by Imam Jaffar Sadiq رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ "If one repeatedly recites Surah Jinn, it protects [them] from the evils and Jinns." In another, the reciter of this Surah will be with the Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ on the Day of Judgment (Sunan Ibn Majah)
